Two sticks

It’s getting hotter, and the plum tree in my small garden has grown so long that it’s starting to get humid so I decided to prune about a third of it. The rest will come later…

Now, here are two Hinoki sticks. I wanted to make a light stick and wasn’t sure what kind of material to use, but I heard that Hinoki is also used for drumsticks in Japan, so I decided to make one using this.

The 8-inch drum was made a little bigger diameter and dyed and coated. The 6-inch one is smaller diameter and finished by applying linseed oil after sandpapering it so that you can enjoy the feel of Hinoki.
