Turning a tabor

First, cut a piece of light Falcata wood, glue it together with Woodbond, and tighten it with rope. After that, I cut it down to fit an 8-inch drum head.
Falcata wood is soft and easy to scrape, but it produces a lot of cutting chips, so if you don’t do a good job of collecting the dust, the chips will fly out and be a problem. I’m going to clean it frequently and scraping it.
I use a gouge to get the shape and dimensions, but then finish with a skew. Since the diameter is large, you need to be careful when cutting with a skew. If the tip of the skew comes into contact with the cutting body even slightly, the cutting body may be blown off, or even if that does not happen, it is very dangerous, so carefully turning a tabor with skew.
